The evolution of zirconium oxide

It all started with white, opaque and unesthetic zirconium oxide (ZrO2). Today zirconium oxide is the most widely used all-ceramic material in dentistry. Zirconium dioxide, also known as zirconia and zirconium oxide, is an inorganic non-metal material that belongs to the group of oxide ceramics. Stabilized with yttrium oxide, zirconium oxide achieves outstanding properties such as high strength and crack resistance. Due to continuous developments in recent years, various types of yttria-stabilized zirconia with different proportions of cubic and tetragonal phase are available today.

Sagemax has made a major contribution to this development steps and is therefore considered as one of the leading dental zirconia manufacturers. Sagemax zirconium discs are created from the best raw powders available to achieve the highest possible quality and esthetics.
In the production of esthetic all-ceramic restorations, the goal is to copy the visual effect of the vital tooth and restore the physical properties. The interplay of color intensities, translucency and opalescence achieves this optical goal. From the zirconia crown to the implant restoration made of zirconia, the NexxZr portfolio offers the right esthetics.

Testimonials

I‘ve used a lot of multi layer zirconias before – but NexxZr T Multi is outstanding: It‘s the one for all zirconia solution!

Vadim MelikMaster Dental Technician Mevadent, Germany

Sagemax makes working with zirconia pleasurable. I really like the easy color coding of the discs- it provides a clear structure in the lab. Of course, the material quality is great and the results speak for themselves.
